This paintings are of the series created during Covid 19 lockdown – with the limited choices and restricted conditions and with no access to my studio, paints and canvases. The challenges of the moment we live in make me review the aesthetics I often apply as well as the approach to the creative process. The realisation is that the ‘norm is a relative idea’ and our life is interconnected with others stronger then ever before.
The initial confusion quickly became a turning point to face the new temporary or permanent reality and paint with the blitz spirit that this is the right way to do against the devastating news, which leave millions of people in anxiety, depression, distress, existential questions and with no power of controlling their lives.
Above all, understanding the ‘impermanence’ under these circumstances have empowered the meaning of the basic values, which dominates human kind and as a result communities unites in resilience against the pandemic. This will be remembered for generations. My Blitz Spirit paintings joins the movement and in isolation responds to this situation with gentle acceptance.
Here is a short video that capture my creative process.
